Biography

Randy Ellefson

Randy Ellefson has been playing guitar for over thirty years and is endorsed by Peavey, Alvarez Guitars, and Morley Pedals. He has a Bachelors of Music in classical guitar, Magna cum Laude, and builds his own electric guitars. Five instrumental guitar albums have been released – three rock/metal, one acoustic, and one classical guitar. He’s also bandleader and primary composer/lyricist for Black Halo, a traditional metal band releasing its debut album in 2024.

Originally a music composition major in college, Rand switched to classical guitar halfway through. This resulted in two things: The Lost Art album – and severe tendonitis that cost him his guitar playing for over five years. All other albums were recorded after this, even if parts of them were written before it.
